Go Sox!

So Brett's always loved baseball and liked the Red Sox, but we kind of became "fans" together after going to Fenway a couple of years ago and discovering just how cool Fenway and Boston as a whole are. The first time we went, we had known each other for about ummm 2 weeks, kinda crazy and scary and potentially disastrous but it ended up being so much fun and then Boston kind of became our thing. If anyone has wondered where we got our little guy's name, that is kind of how. Plus we've both just always thought it was a cool name. Anyway, I got this hat for Boston a long time ago. It's an XXXS and still WAY too big. Brett really wants it to fit Boston's teeny head so he tries it on him periodically to see if there has been any head growth progress....

I'm thinking it might fit when he's 1 maybe??? We'll see...

Smiles

Boston has been smiling lots lately and this is the first time I've been able to capture his goofy little grin. I always grab the camera way too late after he has smiled and smiled and then once I think to grab the camera to take a picture, he's done smiling and starts crying or something. The picture quality is not great because I took it with my phone but like I said this is the first one I've been able to capture so I'll take what I can get. One of these days I'll catch one of his big big smiles.

Also, he had his 2 month check up this week. Doctor says everything looks great. He weighs 10lbs 14 oz. now and is 23.2 in long. He was in the 71%tile for height and the 32%tile for weight. So, he is long and skinny, a little string bean just like his Daddy! Watching him get his shots was one of the saddest things I have ever seen, I don't want to think about it or talk about it. :(

Newborn Pics

Apparently I have a lot to say this week... this is the third post I've done today. I keep remembering that I have more to add. We got Boston's newborn pictures back last week. They turned out sooo good! I love them! We did them when he was 3 weeks old and have been so excited to get them back. The girl that did them did such a great job! I would totally reccomend her. I have the link to her blog in my friends list. It's Brittany photography. I have posted a couple of the pictures but if you want to see all of them, and trust me you do :), they are on our mac gallery. The link is on the right side of the page...
Oh these pictures are just so sweet, they melt my little heart!

My new best friend

When we got home from our weekend trip, this was waiting for me on the front porch. I ordered it last week because I am tired of feeling fat and not just "feeling" fat but feeling reality by not being able to pull my "skinny jeans" up over my butt! This is not fun. Sometimes I wake up and think maybe today they will fit... haha WRONG! I realize that there needs to be some patience involved but, I have put it off long enough and decided it is time to take some serious action! And since it is near impossible to get to the gym very often with a baby and a husband that works from 8am to 8pm most days in the summer, I decided this is how I'll have to do things. My dad and I have made a bet with each other to lose all of the weight we want to lose by the time my brother Kyler gets home from his mission which is at the end of July. So, we have 10 weeks to reach our goal and cheer each other on! If you're reading this Dad, remember that you don't want to have to owe me any money!! :) Anyway, I took it out for the first time today and loved it! Our neighborhood is pretty much on a mountain so everything is uphill, this should be good for my butt. I was worried that Boston wouldn't do well today because he was a little cranky this morning and he was crying when I went to put him in the stroller but no worries, this is him literally 2 seconds after laying him down! Check out his cute Red Sox beanie!

Weekend in Boise

This last weekend we went to Boise for Mother's Day and my birthday which happened to be on the same day this year. It was a good weekend but it always goes way too fast. While we were there my cousin Derek and his wife Kami came over to visit and to introduce Emily, their new baby to Boston. This is weird... Kami and I were due a couple of days apart (I was due April 4, and I think she was the 2nd?, something like that) anyway, we ended up having our babies on the same day 2 weeks early (March 21) and about an hour apart! Weird huh. So I totally think Emily and Boston were hanging out and came down together which is pretty cool to think about. Here are some pictures of Boston and Emily...we're not sure exactly how they are related but we think it is second cousins once removed?? Whatever it is, they look so cute together!

My family, with the exception of my dad, really hasn't seen Boston since the week he was born so it was fun for them to be able to spend some time with him and see how much he has changed in the last couple of months. Here are some pictures of him with his Grandma and Grandpa ( it is still very weird for me to think of my mom and dad as "grandma and grandpa", they just still seem so young to me, and I know I just scored some points with that sentance :) )

And this is how I spent the afternoon on my first Mother's Day... perfect...a nap with my little man :)

For Mother's Day/my birthday Brett got me the best present ever! He got tickets to see Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian in Vegas! I am so excited! I have wanted to see it there for so long. I love love love Phantom and have seen in on Broadway but have heard that the one at the Venetian is even better. We are going at the end of the month and I can't wait! Thanks babe! Love you!

Park City, a birthday and a bath...

May is a fun month, we have both of our birthdays in May and then our anniversary and now Mother's Day for me too!
This last weekend was Brett's birthday and we got to spend it in Park City. His parents have a condo in Park City so every 8 weeks we get to go up there for a little get away that's not too far away. It is so relaxing up there, we love it. Saturday was Brett's birthday, we kind of slept in (a little harder to do now) and then Brett's mom made his favorite sourdough pancakes for him for breakfast. We went shopping at the outlets with our birthday money from his parents and then we came back and played Brett's birthday present from me... the Wii! Yes, I finally conquered the long search for an available Wii. I have been calling Best Buy and some other stores since October. I thought I might be able to get one for Christmas.. yeah right, but I did finally get one so we're happy. It's really fun to play! I'm lame and didn't take any pictures in Park City or for Brett's birthday but we're having one big party this week for Brett and I and our nephew Gray so I'll get some then :)
I do though have some pictures from Boston's bath yesterday. Thanks to my friend Erin, we no longer have tears/screaming bloody murder during bath time. I was just giving Boston his baths in the kitchen sink, this was the easiest because I didn't want one of those huge plastic tub things. He did not like those baths and it was stressful for me becasue he's so skinny and slippery already but when he's mad he does that "im not going to bend" trick where he gets all straight and stiff so he would just slip all around. But... not anymore. Erin gave me this little baby recliner thing for the tub and it is awesome. It's small so not hard to store like those plastic tubs and he can just lounge in the tub and he does! It's so great. He doesn't cry, he just lays there now and relaxes! Thanks Erin!

See, there's no crying

And still happy...

Haha, this is just Boston hanging out on the Yoga ball. Brett put him on the ball one night when he was grouchy cause he had gas and it worked. He just calmed down and hung out.
